Phong Nha DMZ tour and Vinh Moc Tunnel full day details:
Our tour guide and driver with private car will meet you at your hotel in Phong Nha, drive to Vinh Moc Tunnel approximately 2.5 hours away. Your guide will recommend stops along the way to see a small church showing the signs of mortar attack in the area and visit former US Bases. You will go through the DMZ, where some of the bloodiest battles were fought during the Vietnam/American War, you will walk cross the Ben Hai River on Hien Luong Bridge that used to demarcate the division between North and South Vietnam (1954-1975).

You will visit the museums containing photographs and memorials of the war before taking a fascinating tour of the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Your guide will take you into the tunnels and explore the complex; you will walk past huge bomb craters, amazing fighting trench and even venture into the tunnels and explore the tiny living rooms, food and weapon storage and school that villagers would have survived on.
After the tunnels, you will be transported to Cua Tung beach; you will have some time to swim and having picnic lunch by the beach. Mid afternoon driving all the way back to Phong Nha.

Day 1: Phong Nha – Hue City
04h00: take a bus trip to go to Hue
08h00: Arrival Hue Cty, you are met and transferred to hotel in Hue.We spend this afternoon to visit Hue with the massive citadel, containing the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City. We stay overnight in Hue city.

Day 2: Hue (L)

In the morning, we both have breakfast at our hotel.We spend all the morning to take boat ride on Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Minh Mang Tomb.Then, we have lunch at nice local restaurant. In the afternoon: we continue our journey by visiting Tu Duc and Khai Dinh’s Tombs, shopping at Dong Ba market. We stay overnight in hotel in Hue.

Day 3: Hue – Hoi an

In the morning, heading out of the town, we drive towards the south to Hoi an ancient town. Along the way to Hoi an, we can break the journey in Lang Co Beach for a leisurely swim and an enjoyable visit to a nearby fishing village. The winding road begins as we make our way up the spectacular Hai Van pass. A view from the top of the pass is one of Vietnam’s most impressive panoramic scenes.The next stop is Da nang which is famous for the Cham Museum. After seeing this sight we continue to the My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountain, of which the peaks represent the five elements of the universe. We reach Hoi an in the late afternoon, stay overnight in Hoi an. Ending this tour.

Day 01: Sapa – Cat Cat Village (B)

We arrive Lao Cai train station in the early morning. Pick up and driving to Sapa, it takes us around one hour to make our way up the mountains. Once at Sapa, we have breakfast (we will have room if it is available – but the check in time after 12:00). We embark on a lovely walking tour to the hill tribe village of Cat Cat, home of the H’Mong hill tribe minority people. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with families that live in the area.
Overnight in Sapa.

Day 02: Sapa – Muong Hoa Valley – Night train to Hanoi (B, L)

Get up in the early morning and enjoy the fresh air and the daily life at Sapa market. Back to hotel for breakfast. At 9.00 we embark on a lovely trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hills tribe villages Lao Chai & Ta Van, home to Black H’mong, and Dzay people. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. Once on the valley floor you can really appreciate the wonderful scenery that surrounds you. The walls of the valley are covered with multi-layered rice terraced fields and scattered villages. We back to Sapa in the afternoon and wait for your transfer to the station for night train to Hanoi.

Day 03: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Arrive Hanoi in the early morning, having breakfast and we will pick you up around 08:00 am for a transfer to Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. “Dragon descending to the sea“ as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 1.000 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes
Upon arrival at Halong Bay we embark on a boat trip to cruise discovering this magnificent UNESCO World Wonder. This is a great journey among surreal islands rising from a tranquil emerald sea.
In the late afternoon, we anchor for the night on the bay and enjoy a delicious seafood dinner on board.

Day 04: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)
Early morning coffee and tea will be served on the sundeck followed by a Tai Chi class. After breakfast we take a Sampan boat to explore Luon Cave. We may have a chance to see the wild monkeys that gather around waiting for food from the tourists. After that we continue to cruise around the bay. Lunch is served on the boat on our way back to the docks then we return to Hanoi. Arrive Hanoi around 16.30. End of all the services here. 

Tu Lan Cave Encounter 3 days/ 2 nights

Tu Lan Cave Encounter 3 days/ 2 nights tour from Phong Nha

Day 1: Phong Nha – Tan Hoa – Ken Cave – Tu Lan campsite
Between 07:30 to 08:00, the guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha town and take the group to the office in Tan Hoa Village, which is 70km from Phong Nha. At the office, the guide will give you a short briefing about the trekking itinerary and safety regulations; pack your bag, sign the Release Form and receive essential safety equipment (The transportation cost to Tan Hoa is included in the price of Tu Lan 3 days 2 night trip).

The group will hike around 2.5km through corn and peanut fields to reach the Rao Nan River bank. From there, you will need to cross the river and climb over a small hill (around 50 m) which is rocky in places. Continuing down the other side the group will reach the flat Hung Ton Valley. After crossing the valley, the group will rest and enjoy lunch at the entrance of Hung Ton Cave. After lunch the trek is a bit more challenging with some steep hills leading to the Tu Lan Valley campsite by the waterfall.

Afternoon activities include swimming and exploring Ken Cave, which is located close to the campsite. Then return to the campsite and enjoy a wonderful dinner prepared for you by the chefs. As you immerse yourself in the peaceful natural scenery of mountains and forests as well as the sound of the waterfall, you will feel calm and have a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 2: Tu Lan cave – Kim Cave – Hung Ton Cave – Tan Hoa
The next day, you will trek, explore and swim through Hang Tu Lan and Hang Kim to reach To Mo Valley, two spectacular caves. You will have lunch at To Mo campsite before swimming into Hung Ton Cave, at the side of the waterfall. Inside the cave, the group will have to climb up a 10m high ladder with safety harnesses. A short hike leads to the cave entrance. In front of the cave entrance is the beautiful scene of the Hung Ton Valley, a great spot for beautiful photos. From there the group will return to Oxalis Tan Hoa office along the Hung Ton Valley, crossing the Rao Nan River and the peanut corn fields one last time. Back at Tan Hoa office, the group will check in to Rural Homestay in Tan Hoa to shower and relax.

Around 6:00 pm, the group will walk to the porter’s house for dinner and interact with the villagers. You will not only have the opportunity to try some delicious local food but also learn more about the living condition of the people here. After dinner, the group will come back to Rural Homestay for a restful night.

Day 3: Explore Tan Hoa village and ATV tour – Phong Nha
Early in the morning, waking up from your Rural Homestay, there will be a peaceful review of the lives of the villagers, guests can explore Tan Hoa village and enjoy the sunrise over the Tan Hoa paddy fields or corn fields by biking around the village. You can also enjoy breakfast at the Tu Lan Lodge Restaurant.

Adventure enthusiasts can also join the ATV – Squat bike off-road tour to explore Lim forest and Kong’s home, for two hours. This is a sporty driving tourism activity that takes you up hills, across streams, and through the beautiful Lim forest and Kong’s tunnel.

Homestay check-out time is 12:00 PM. There will be a shuttle service from Tan Hoa to Phong Nha after the Tu Lan Cave Encounter tour.  Tour ends.

Hang En Adventure Cave camp 2 days/ 1 night

Hang En Adventure Cave camp 2 days/ 1 night

DAY 1: PHONG NHA – BAN DOONG VILLAGE – HANG EN CAVE
You need to come to Phong Nha before 6:00am on the morning of the cave adventure departure. Please avoid being late for the departure time of this adventure trip to Hang En.

On the morning of the departure, the car will come to pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha from 7:30 to 8:00 am, and bring you to the headoffice. There you will listen to the safety briefing, sign the release form, pack your bag and receive the necessary safety equipment.

After departing from Phong Nha office, the group starts with a jungle trek, hiking down a steep hill to reach a branch of the Rao Thuong Stream leading to the only village located in the core zone of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park.

After about 1 and a half hours of walking and wading through streams, the group will arrive at Doong Village – the home of the minority ethnic community living deep in the jungle. The group will stop for lunch at the village and learn about the life of the people here before continuing the trek to Hang En camp. Continuing walking through the jungle, crossing the river many times, the group will reach Hang En after about 3 hours. There everyone will be equipped with helmets, turn on the headlamps and start climbing the rocky section to explore the cave. Standing on the top of the rocky slope, you will see the entire Hang En Cave camp and the mesmerizing surrounding scenery. After receiving your tent, you can enjoy swimming in the turquoise lake next to the camp, before enjoying delicious food right in the cave. That’s the first camping day!

DAY 2: HANG EN – PHONG NHA
After breakfast, the group continues, climbing up the rocks behind the camp in a cave, exploring and learning more interesting facts of nature’s masterpiece in Quang Binh Province, and admiring the stalagmites and stalactites. At the back of the cave, a new view of the Hang En campsite opens up. Save some precious memories of this unique place.

After wading through the underground streams you will reach the large sandy floor of the gigantic cave exit. The group will return through the cave to the underground camp to have lunch and a short break. The group will then leave the cave, for the final challenge of wading through many streams and climbing a steep hill around 450m high. At the top of the hill is the road and a bus with cold beverages ready to welcome you back after all the challenges in your caving adventure to discover the wonderful Hang En.

The bus will take the group back to Phong Nha at about 18:00.

Hang Va Expedition 2 days / 1 night

Hang Va Expedition 2 days / 1 night

Day 1: Phong Nha – Hang Nuoc Nut – Hang Va jungle camp

For your convenience, we will pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha between 8:00 – 8:30 AM and drive to Headquarters. At the Headquarters, you will collect your gear, listen to a tour briefing and please be noted that you need to sign our Release Form before driving 45 minutes through the National Part to the trailhead.

From the trailhead, we will enter the jungle and hike to the entrance of Hang Nuoc Nut. Here we put on our Petzl helmets and Hope Technology 1500 lumen head lamps. Once inside the low opening the cave enlarges dramatically and we explore the high level series with excellent photographic opportunities. We have a picnic lunch with ice cold drinks provided before setting off in the cave for around 2 kilometres. Enjoy the beautiful formations, enormous passage and Underground River, again with many photographic opportunities.

Leaving the cave you will trek on a jungle path which though short is on a tough and difficult terrain. The jungle campsite is located at the base of huge cliffs next to the entrance of Hang Va. Camp will be set up and tea/coffee will be supplied as well as a delicious dinner served by our local chef. This is a true jungle camp and a great experience around camp fire listening to the jungle noises.

Day 2: Hang Va – Phong Nha
Day 2 is the highlight of the expedition. Before experiencing this fantastic cave, Hang Va, you will have a delicious breakfast at around 8:00 am.

First, you will have to climb down the steep entrance of Hang Va. It can be quite slippery, so move slowly and with care. To ensure your safety, we will have a rope for you to clip into with a harness which will be provided for you. You will continue to wear the harness at all times inside Hang Va Cave.

After that, if we are early, there is a chance to swim in a downstream pool inside Hang Va before heading upstream. You will walk most of the time in water flowing through the river passage, climb up and down, and squeeze between the rocks. The water level of the river passage can be as high as chest level, so be ready to be wet for about 4 hours.

When you reach the end of the wet passage, you will need to use the harness again to carefully climb up to the high level passage. You will be amazed with this high level area because of its stunning formations, really rare throughout the world. In this area, we will have a lot of time to take beautiful images with the support of Hope technology and extra lights prepared specifically for photography in Hang Va Cave.

Finally, we will head back to the camp, enjoy lunch and at around 2:00 pm, walk back to the road by a different route to the pick up point. Our driver will take you back to your hotel in Phong Nha by about 5:00 pm.

Wild Tu Lan Cave Explorer 3 days 2 nights

Day 1: Phong Nha – Tan Hoa – Tu Lan

You will be picked up in Phong Nha between 7:30 am and 8:00 am at your hotel and driven to the little village of Tan Hoa for your initial safety briefing. Please be noted that Release Form needs to be signed before you are getting to the jungle.

You’ll then set off across sweeping fields for 2.5 km to the Rao Nan River, making your way up to the short hill into Rat Cave.

Explore 300m in Rat Cave with spectacular calcite stalagmites, then make your way back out for a picnic lunch served next to the river in La Ken Valley.

You’ll then climb 150 m increasing in elevation up Lom Com Mountain. Keep going through Flat Rock Peak and make your way to Mango Peak on Mango Mountain. After a quick break, the trek continues down into Tu Lan Valley (2 km).

You’ll finish your afternoon on a more relaxed note with swimming around the waterfall, followed by a BBQ dinner, and singing around the campfire until sleep overcomes you.

Day 2: Ken Cave – Tu Lan – Hang Kim – To Mo

The morning arrives with another full day of adventure. Shortly following breakfast comes a swim directly into Ken Cave.

After exploring this longest cave in Tu Lan Cave System, you will return back to camp for more waterfall swimming, a rest, and picnic lunch.

Post-lunch, it’s a 200 m swim into Tu Lan Cave, followed by a 1.5 km trek to Hang Kim where swimming (450 m) and exploration (500 m) continues before adventuring 500 m on through To Mo Valley to the To Mo Cave campsite.

Enjoy another beautifully prepared dinner, and camping within graceful To Mo Valley.

Day 3: To Mo – Tan Hoa – Phong Nha

The last day continues to exude less adventure and balance between trekking and swimming, and then a morning swim 100 m upstream past the waterfall and through Hung Ton Cave via what is usually the exit of the cave.

Investigation of the dry passage leads to a 15 m ladder climb up to the entrance of Hung Ton.

After trekking across Hung Ton Valley, you will squeeze your way in to Secret Cave and discover the most untouched cave in Tu Lan Cave System.

Early afternoon holds the return trip across Rao Nan River, the beautiful fields, and back to Tan Hoa (2.5 km), where a cold drink will be calling your name.

Showers are available for those who would like to clean up and change. The tour returns to Phong Nha by 5:30 pm.

Motorbike with driver will takes you from Phong Nha to the animal rescue center where the national park management tries to rescue wild animals and set them free to the wild life afterward. From this point tourist will trek up to Len Hai mount (about 400m above sea level), you will have a great view to Bong Lai valley from the top of the mountain, after the hill you will be reaching Rao Con River where you can enjoy swimming yourself at the small waterfall with clean water.

You will have chance to visit a small untouched Bru Van Kieu minority group located not very far from Phong Nha town, visit the village, chat with local people and have lunch in one of the minority people’s house. After lunch you will trek down to Bong Lai river and the forestry, you will cross the river sometimes. The van will be waiting at the Pub With Cold Beer in Bong Lai Village where you can enjoy cold drinks before coming back to Phong Nha town.

The Bru-Van Kieu live mainly on rice cultivation of burnt over land and in submerged fields. Hunting, gathering and fishing supplement an important source of food. They rear cattle and poultry firstly for religious sacrifices, then for their meals. Basketry and palm mat-making are their sideline occupations.

The Bru-Van Kieu live in small houses on stilts, which are appropriate to a family including the father, the mother and unmarried children. In a village near the rivers or streams, the houses are always arranged along the current. In flat and extended terrain, the houses are arranged in more or less regular circles around a communal house.

The village chief plays an important role and enjoys high prestige of the villagers. Many Bru-Van Kieu family lineages preserve tales retracing the origin of their ancestors and retain certain taboos.

Once you have arrived, we will brief you and the team on safety and what to expect. Once we have introduced everyone in the group and prepared the team, we will head off into the Phong Nha Ke-Bang National Park. Once the team reaches the trail-head you will plunge into the jungle and begin the uphill climb into Elephant Cave. Upon completing the most difficult 20 minutes of the trek you will be rewarded with the magnificent sight of 60 meter high, 300 meter long Elephant cave. Our guides will lead you through the cave, take you into the depths, and tell you about the war history of the cave.

After exploring Elephant Cave, the team will hike the jungle trail, cross rivers, and balance across fallen trees. Deep into Ma Da Valley you and the team will go until you reach the heavenly blue waters of Ma Da Crystal Lake. Here you and the team will have the opportunity to take a swim, do some cliff jumping and enjoy a delicious Jungle BBQ prepared by your porter (vegan options also available). With full bellies and feeling refreshed you and the team will gear up and continue on the jungle hike. A few kilometer down the trail and a couple river crossings later the team will come upon a large bend in the river and a staging area for the swim into Tra Ang Cave. After a short scramble up some limestone rocks you will reach the cool waters of Tra Ang Cave and begin the 600m swim into the furthest depths of the cave.

Once the Tra Ang Cave swim is completed, our guides will lead you to the road. Here your driver will be waiting for you with a cold beer or soda and a ride back to your hotel in Phong Nha.

Hang Gieng Vooc is situated in the ecological restoration of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park – central Vietnam.Though the cave is pretty short in length, it owns dozens of stunning rock formations come in various types of shapes: straws, stalactites, stalagmites, pillars, cave shawl, cave shields.

Itinerary
07h00 – 07h15: Pick up at your hotel in Dong Hoi city and driving an hour on Ho Chi Minh Trails to Phong Nha Town.

08h00 – 08h15: Our bus and tour guide will pick you up at Phong Nha town, start a dreamy trip to stunning scenery with thousands of limestone mountains through Phong Nha National park and Ho Chi Minh trails (the trails were built during the “American War” to get troops and material to the south to help in fighting on the southern side of the DMZ line).

10h00 – 10h30: Tour guide informs guests of the tour itinerary and prepares cave equipments.
10h30 – 12h00: Transfer to Mooc Spring parking, have a short trek along the moutain to get to Gieng Vooc Cave. After exploring Gieng Vooc cave and primary forest, you will move to Da Lan lake where you can swim and relax.
12:h30 – 13h30: Enjoy jungle BBQ prepared by our porters.
13h30 – 16h00: Exploring Gio cave and Chay waterfall
16h30: Back to Phong Nha town.
17h30: Back to Dong Hoi city
